If you like cheap second hand clothes and vintage, pay a visit to the largest flea market of Amsterdam. The flea market is held at the IJ-hallen, a part of the former shipwharf NDSM across the IJ-water in the North of Amsterdam. A ferry will take you there in a 15-minute fun ride.

Vintage shoes and antiques

Looking for a second hand flower pot? Vintage shoes? Second hand clothes? At the IJ-hallen you will find everything for extremely low prices. Commercial vendors are not allowed, only people who want to empty out their storage, attics and basements are present. Over 300 stands sell stuff like clothes, toys, antiques, books, records, furniture and much more.

Shipwharf NDSM

The market takes place all year round at the old NDSM ship wharf, located along the banks of the IJ. This rough, industrial area covering a space the size of some 10 football fields has been turned into a cultural and creative hotspot in recent years. Over 250 artists have settled here.

Nearby restaurants and bars of Café Noorderlicht and IJ-Kantine regularly offer live music and parties.

Quick and easy access is available by ferry, that will take you to NDSM within 15 minutes. The ferry is free of charge and leaves from behind Central Station (look for the ferry that says NDSM).

The 'IJveer', the ferry that takes you across the IJ-water from behind Central Station.

Parking is free. Entrance to the flea market is € 4,-.
