Ohh Amsterdam, such a charming place.

I will be returning in late march of 2012 for a nice week or so stay. You mention smart shops having natural products, is there ANY way you would be able to get in touch with ayahuasca?

Surly you know specifically what it is I’m looking for…. perhaps I will try the Dragon’s Dynamite as its unfortunately the only trip that is easy to find & trustworthy.

Any guidance you can offer is appreciated.

Hi Brandon,
The plants that Ayahuasca is made from, are not illegal and you can buy them online and prepare your own. The ingredient DMT, that gives the effects, is officially considered ‘hard drugs’ in The Netherlands, thought it is tolerated for use by certain religious groups (eg Santo Daime in Amsterdam).

I don’t know if they sell ayahuasca in smart shops, or something similar, just ask when you get here, or call ahead. It sure is available online: check for example: http://azarius.nl/smartshop/psychedelics/ayahuasca/?a=378.

Enjoy

What’s the difference between magic truffles and Dragon’s Dynamite? Also, how do they both differ from magic mushrooms?

Are there auditory and visual hallucinations with magic truffles and Dragon’s Dynamite?

Finally, is the active ingredient in all of them simply psilocybin? If so, why would magic truffles and Dragon’s Dynamite be legal, and magic mushrooms be illegal?

Dragon’s Dynamite is a type of magic truffle. It’s official name is Psilocybe Pajateros. It is very potent – 15 grams will put you in another universe.

Yes, as with magic mushrooms, the main active ingredient in magic truffles is psilocybin (some psilocin is also present). Once ingested, the psilocybin is metabolized to psilocin.

I don’t know the legal loophole which allows truffles to be sold, but not mushrooms. But I can assure you, these truffles can produce a profound trip. In fact, the Dragon’s Dynamite trip I had in Amsterdam was stronger than any magic mushroom trip I’ve ever had…just insanely intense.

If you want a comparison, the truffles are slightly less visual than the mushrooms, but they are far more euphoric. It’s probably the ratio of the different alkaloids that produces the slightly different effects.

Thanks for the info. On the way back to Amsterdam in a few days but I think I will give the truffles a miss. % of us took them the last time we were there and it was a bit of a weird trip for all of us. Didn’t like them at all I have to say. I might try some of the other legal stuff, but they had most of this here (in dublin) up until recently and I wasn’t a big fan of most of it.

nonsense- smarshops sell plenty of chemical based “highs”. Most work to some degree, some better than others, some safer than others. Is possible to get plenty research chemical products. I strongly recomend not taking these, far better and safer with the real thing.

We’d like to inform readers that in the Netherlands, smartshops are supposed to sell only natural highs. Reliable smartshops carry the VLOS (the industry’s umbrella organisation) badge.

You may have found that some smartshops do sell chemicals, mostly in the UK where chemical legal highs have become increasingly popular (leading to dangerous situations).

Hi. Thanks for your comment. At the moment there are no plans to ban magic truffles. So I think you will be ‘safe’ ;-)

Magic truffles will always stay ‘ legal’ in the Netherlands. The Dutch Parlement is not planning to ban this product from Amsterdam smartshops or online smartshops.

Magic truffles in Azarius shop Amsterdam were the best and very kind and informative. No bullshit just the best of all truffles! should be their slogan ?

When you visit Amsterdam make sure you go to a smartshop and do not buy them in a souvenirshop. this is my best tip ever given. Stay away from street selling and souvenirshops, just go to real smartshops like azarius store and You will enjoy your stay in Amsterdam for sure. Go to the Ibiz Hotel and feel free :D
